Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we invite you to Munich for the Joint Congress of IFSO-EC and EASO, taking place from 18–21 May 2027.
After 2016 and 2022 this is the 3rd Joint Congress aiming at:
«Together we transform obesity»
At a time when obesity continues to represent one of the greatest health challenges, collaboration across disciplines has never been more important. This congress reflects a shared vision: bringing together leading experts of internists and surgeons, healthcare professionals, researchers, innovators including the patient representatives to advance knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and shape the future of obesity care.
The joint meeting of IFSO-EC and EASO represents a unique opportunity to bridge perspectives and expertise across metabolic bariatric surgery, obesity medicine, research, prevention, education, public health, and patient-centred care. By learning from one another and working together, we can move closer to more effective, compassionate, and evidence-based solutions for people living with obesity.
Throughout the congress, you can expect an inspiring scientific programme featuring the latest breakthroughs, stimulating discussions, and opportunities for meaningful exchange. Beyond sharing knowledge, this meeting will spark new ideas, foster lasting collaborations, and inspire collective action to address one of the defining health priorities of our time.
Munich, with its spirit of innovation, culture, and hospitality, provides the perfect setting for this important gathering. We encourage you to take full advantage of the opportunities to connect with colleagues from across Europe, consolidate friendships, and build new professional relationships – at the congress and during our social events as all will be shared by both societies.
Together, we have the opportunity to advance science and clinical excellence in obesity!
We warmly invite you to join us in Munich in May 2027 and look forward to welcoming you personally to what promises to be a great congress.
With our warmest regards,
Ralph Peterli
