Part 2. The video contains information about various pathologies that can be cause of wrist pain. Anatomy of carpus is presented. The author describes bones that build the wrist, the tendons and muscles that are placed in this area. Firstly the carpal tunnel syndrome is explained. It occurs due to the excessive pressure placed on the median nerve. The second common cause of wrist pain is radial wrist pain, also called a De Quervain’s Syndrome. It is caused by the inflammation of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds the two tendons that control movement of the thumb. There is also an intersection syndrome. The ganglion cyst can be a source of wrist pain also. It most commonly occur on the back of the hand at the wrist joint. Extensor tensynovitis is an irritation of the tendons located in the fourth extensor compartment. Ulnar wrist pain which is very hard to diagnose like triangular fibrocartilage, the extensor carpi ulnaris subluxation or inflammation are presented. Arthritis or trauma of distal radioulnar joint. Finally there is a global wrist pain usually caused by arthritis. Each of the syndrome contains explanation, diagnosis methods and treatment. The author also takes into consideration, what are probable causes of each syndrome.
