Structural Heart Intervention and Imaging 2013: A Practical Approach

 Transcatheter structural heart disease intervention is a rapidly growing part of clinical care in adult cardiology. The optimal patient approach in this emerging arena requires the application of new transcatheter techniques and the integration of cardiovascular imaging before, during and after interventional treatment. This is an increasingly complex patient care process that relies on increasing the collaborative effort between disciplines including cardiovascular imaging specialists, interventional physicians and cardiac surgeons.
Scripps Clinic’s Structural Heart Intervention and Imaging conference is designed to provide a practical and cutting-edge assessment of the emerging area of structural heart disease intervention and interventional cardiovascular imaging, with an emphasis on the multi-disciplinary nature of these procedures.

The expert faculty will include interventionalists, invasive cardiologists, echocardiographers, cardiovascular surgeons, and sonographers. Faculty will discuss clinical guidelines on patient selection, pre-procedural assessment, procedural tips, techniques and challenges (including concurrent imaging) during the performance of the procedures and conclude with assessment of outcomes and future directions.
