16th International Conference on Emergency Medicine

April is fast approaching and with it comes the largest emergency medicine conference ever to be held on African soil. We look forward to welcoming you all to Cape Town in a few short weeks for the 16th International Conference on Emergency Medicine, ICEM 2016.

The theme of the conference, “Emergency Medicine Now: Knowledge, Action and Accountability” is well represented by the myriad topics and workshops that will be offered. Many of the conference streams and talks will cover important aspects of emergency medical care including pre-­‐hospital care, emergency nursing and clinical lectures. The keynote speakers are all leaders in their respective fields and we will be enthralled with subject matter as diverse as paleontology, a life in emergency medicine, combat medicine and the WHO emergency and trauma care programme. Ethics and medical education will be covered as topics and there will be a focus on research. The full programme can be accessed online on the website www.icem2016.org. The abstract submissions have closed and we are pleased to be able to showcase excellent emergency medical research during the oral and poster sessions.
