- Karl A. Miller, MD FACS – Associate Professor of Surgery, General Surgeon and Bariatric Surgeon. The Immediate Past President of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), President of the Austrian Society for Bariatric Surgery, Associate Editor of the Top Journal Obesity Surgery and in the Editorial Board of man high ranked Scientific Journals.
Dr. Miller received specific bariatric surgery training at the Iowa University and has started to perform bariatric and metabolic surgery as early as 1994. He developed the surgical technique for the laparoscopic application of gastric banding, he also has extensive experience in laparoscopic gastric surgery and functional surgery of the stomach. He organizes international workshops and conferences, delivers lectures worldwide and teaches at the European Surgical Institute in Hamburg, Germany, the Laparoscopic Morbid Obesity Surgery Masterclass in Elancourt, France, and Obesity Surgery for the Austrian Professional Surgical Association.
